PokeIt

Version 5 Released, Plus PokeIt Goes Open Source!

PokeIt is a MicroStation VBA application. It is used to select, isolate or hide elements based on their attributes, such as level, color, line style, etc. The filter criterion is populated from an element rather than from a list in a dialog box.

PokeIt is also used to create elements similar to a selected, or “poked” element; hence the name “PokeIt”.

There are also a couple of additional “bonus” commands, Invert Selection  and Fence Subset.

PokeIt is now open source.

If you improve PokeIt, please drop me a line and I'll incorporate your changes and give you credit. Obvious areas for improvement include support for vertical product element types (i.e. intelligent element types created with AECOSim Building Designer, InRoads, etc.). In fact, in the download I've included a supplementary VBA project that supports TriForma-based elements. I stripped this functionality out of version 5 but it could be reincorporated by a motivated individual to support the current iteration of Bentley BIM, AECOSim Building Designer.

If I start receiving community-driven PokeIt enhancements, I'll move the project to GitHub under a creative commons license.

C'mon, you know you wanna... PokeIt!
